Gift-Giving for Nurses is 1%

“Despite recent high-profile major gifts for the nursing profession and raised awareness of the nursing crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic, private giving for the nursing profession amounts to just one penny of every dollar given for healthcare.” (reported on National Philanthropy Day in November 2023.)

*** Overall philanthropic support for healthcare in 2022 was $574 billion

**** Philanthropic support for nursing totaled >>> an estimated $573.9 million

This “amounts to merely 1% of every dollar in private contributions given for healthcare during this period.”

Philanthropic investments come from:  individuals, foundations, and corporations ….. yes, the Dollars from major contributors count.

*** Continue to BE SEEN --- show up to Events ~~ those Events held by public and legislative officials

**** Continue to SPEAK UP --- communicate with healthcare leaders & decision-makers  ~~ locally and nationally

***** Continue to SHOW STRENGTH ---- show your support for all Nurses ~~ be involved in Nursing organizations
